We set four cookies. All four are strictly necessary — three keep the site and our admin console working, and one protects our forms from spam. We set no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. It lets the site remember something between one page and the next — in our case, the choices you have made and whether a member of our staff is signed in.

Cookies set by this website are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company whose code runs on a page are called third-party cookies. We use three first-party cookies and one third-party cookie, all listed below.

What it does
Lets Google reCAPTCHA tell a real person from an automated script, so our enquiry forms cannot be flooded with spam. Set by Google on its own domain when the reCAPTCHA script loads.

A note on the two admin cookies. admin_session and admin_otp exist only for the small number of people who run this business. They are set after signing in at the admin console, and they are marked HttpOnly, which means no script running on the page can read them. If you are a customer browsing the site, neither will ever be set for you.

A note on the reCAPTCHA cookie. _GRECAPTCHA is set by Google, on Google’s own domain, not by us. We cannot read it, change it or set an expiry on it. We include it here because it lands on your device as a direct result of using our forms, so you are entitled to know about it.

Things that are not cookies

Two parts of the site handle data about your visit without storing anything on your device. They are not cookies, but naming them is the honest thing to do.

[Vercel Web Analytics]

If — and only if — you switch on the analytics category, we count page views and referring sites so we can see which pages are actually read. It is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, builds no profile of you, and cannot follow you to other websites. We see totals and trends, never individuals. Leaving it switched off changes nothing about how the site works for you.

[Rate limiting]

When you submit a form, your IP address is held in our server’s memory for one minute so that we can cap how often the form can be submitted. This is what stops a script hammering our enquiry form. Nothing is written to your device, nothing is written to our database, and the entry disappears on its own.

When Google reCAPTCHA loads

Google reCAPTCHA protects our forms from automated abuse. We have deliberately scoped it as tightly as we can:

  • It loads only on pages that actually contain a form — the home page, the contact page, and the staff sign-in pages. On every other page, no Google code runs at all.
  • Even on those pages, it does not load when the page opens. It loads only once you focus or start typing in the form. If you read the contact page and leave without touching the form, nothing is requested from Google.
  • We use it for bot detection only. It is not used for advertising, and it is not an analytics tool.

Because reCAPTCHA is what makes it safe for us to publish a form at all, we treat it as strictly necessary rather than optional. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply when it runs. Google processes this data outside India.

Changing your choices

You can review or change your choices whenever you like. It is exactly as easy to withdraw consent as it was to give it.

[Preferences]

Open the preferences panel to switch the optional categories on or off. Your choice takes effect immediately — there is no need to reload the page.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you delete existing cookies and refuse new ones. Be aware that blocking the strictly necessary cookies will mean the site cannot remember your consent choice, so you will be asked again on every visit.

Changes to this policy

If we add, remove or change a cookie, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. If a change means we need to ask you to make a fresh choice, the preferences panel will reappear on your next visit.
